Learn Shibari at the School of Ropes
The School of Ropes offers various Shibari classes adapted to your level, with no prerequisites required.
I welcome you to a space dedicated to the practice of Japanese rope bondage and Shibari in Joinville-le-Pont (RER A).
Shibari is an aesthetic and intense practice. The placement of the ropes, the tension, the safety rules, and the anatomical details that must be understood absolutely require taking lessons.
I offer Shibari classes tailored to your level. Initially, we'll start with an introductory session, then progress to more advanced classes following a specific learning path:
– Floor positions and intention
– Kicking/getting
– Semi-suspension
– Advanced suspension

FAQ “Ecole Des Cordes”
Which course should I choose if I'm a beginner?
If you are a beginner, we recommend starting with the Shibari Introductory Day or the Discovery and Introductory Course. These courses will teach you the basics of safety, knots, and rope handling.
Do I need to come with a partner?
Yes, all our courses require you to come with a partner, except for the introductory course. Practicing with a partner is essential to ensure safety, respect, and an optimal experience. If you don't already have a partner, we advise you to find someone you feel comfortable with.
What equipment do I need to bring?
We provide ropes for practice during lessons. However, if you prefer to have your own equipment, ropes and starter kits are available for purchase on-site or in our online shop. This can be a great option for continuing your practice at home.
Are there any prerequisites for the advanced courses?
Yes, some courses, such as Semi-Suspensions or Advanced Suspensions, require specific prerequisites, including mastery of the TK/Gote and solid practical experience. To learn the exact prerequisites for each course and explore the complete learning path, see the dedicated page here: Discover our learning paths
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule my reservation?
Cancellations or rescheduling are possible up to 48 hours before the start of the course. Please contact us directly via our contact form to make the necessary changes. If your partner can no longer attend, it is essential to find a replacement to ensure the course can proceed.
I've found an incredible community here. The courses are enriching and the workshops are simply fascinating.
