In this introductory course to ropes and shibari, we will cover:
– The basics of security and an introduction to the history of kinbaku.
– Learning basic knots: single and double column tie.
– The concept of ichinawa, or how to communicate and have fun with your partner using only a rope.
– Basic figures that can be performed with one or two ropes

Ground work or semi-suspension with this very simple figure based on one of the punishments of the Edo period.
> Gyaku Ebi Shibari (reverse shrimp position or Hogtie)

Working on the ground or in semi-suspension with this position very restrictive for the model and the rigger.
– Legs tied – Kashi Shibari (下肢縛り) simple and for tormenting.
From a simple and aesthetic restriction of the legs to a very simple, effective, deep painful torture with almost no marks.
– Momo Shibari and Tsuri
The thigh is a very resilient part of the body and can withstand very intense BDSM play. This is my own version of “futomomo” used for ground work (newaza), partial or full suspensions.

– Agura Shibari (胡座縛り):
Agura (胡坐, literally "foreign/barbaric sitting position") is the Japanese term for the position normally described as sitting cross-legged. The buttocks are on the floor (or on a cushion placed on the floor) and the legs are in front of each other, with the knees bent and each foot passing under the other leg. In Japan, this posture is considered an informal alternative to the seiza (good sitting) position for men.
– Strappado (chokusen kumu gote shibari or chokusen shibari) 直線組む後手縛り
Everyone knows the "Strappado", it's such a beautiful position.
It can be very stressful for the model because blood circulation in the arms is severely restricted. The initial sensation is that your arms are going to explode, and the position also puts significant strain on the shoulders. There are many ways to set it up; we'll look at two of them.
– Bamboos and ropes (Take to nawa)竹と縄
Different aspects of using bamboo with ropes, either as a suspension system or as an addition to the already attached model.
